We are blessed in this generation with Jewish musicians who bring spirituality into all musical forms. As a fan of blues, folk, bluegrass, and rock music, I very much enjoy finding new Jewish artists who blend traditional soul stirring styles with Godliness in their music. During the 40Days4Israel Campaign, two new songs came out which are perfect tools to spread positivity about Israel that is embued with meaning. Naftali Kalfa and Shlomo Katz put out “Tzion” which transports the listener into his/her own experience of the yearning of the Jewish people for their homeland, the deep attachment and love for Tzion. Moshe Hecht released “Believers” a world pop/indie rock anthem with the message that the Jewish people are deeply connected to God. My favorite lyric from Moshe’s song, “My emunah (belief) planted inherently so shepherd me, have faith in me and see what I can be.” Enjoy both videos below and share as part of the 40Days4Israel campaign with a link to this post.
The song was composed by Naftali Kalfa and performed by Naftali and Rabbi Shlomo Katz.
Lyrics:
The One who restores His Presence to Zion.
May you build it up in our days an everlasting sanctuary.
And prepare the throne of David your servant.
May the Temple be built and the City of Zion be filled.
And there we will sing a new song, and with joy ascend.
A great new Jewish music video for everyone to enjoy – the music is fresh and original, and the video is well made and thought provoking and rated G (no need to worry about watching it with your kids). Moshe grew up in the Lubavitch world and he brings the core Chabad themes of sensitivity to Jewish identity and connecting to every Jews into his music in a natural way that works. Here is more information about Moshe Hecht.
