I love Janglo.net for their focus on what’s hot, developing, important, or just fun. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten an e-mail that didn’t make me more informed – or proud – about life in Israel. It is one of my staple go-to sources of tips and tricks to make life in Jerusalem great. As stated in their motto, they provide “Community. Protexia” which is funny but also true. So it is part of what keeps me feeling positive during these 40Days4Israel. Janglo founder and leader Zev Stub explains his thoughts on the 40Days4Israel below…
“Some 3500 years ago, on the 29th of Sivan, Israel dispatched 12 spies to go spy out the land of Israel for 40 days. On the 9th of Av, they returned with a negative report about the great land that G-d gave them, and Israel was punished terribly. What exactly was the sin of the spies? Perhaps an attitude of complaining too much, or a refusal to take responsibility for our national mission. However you want to say it, one thing is for sure: we don’t seem to have learned our lesson.
This year, lets spend the same 40 day period correcting our mistake. Instead of complaining about the people and things we love to complain about, lets promise ourselves we won’t complain. That’s the 40Days4Israel Challenge. You can tweet positive comments about Israel at #40days4Israel, or just make an extra effort on your own to say good words about our land and people every day. Your small efforts can bring Israel one step closer to acheiving our national goals.”
And here is Zev with another face grabbing happy baby. Baruch Hashem and Thank G-d for the little bundles of goodness.
