Video Kick-Off of the 40 Days 4 Israel: Caleb’s Challenge

Yishai kicks off the 40 Days 4 Israel at the early hours of Sivan 29, 5772 in Jerusalem. A day in the Jewish calendar begins at nightfall so this year the beginning of Sivan 29 occurs on the night of June 18th, 2012. This is the time period with the 12 Meraglim (Spies) embarked from the desert camp of the Jewish people led by Moses to go on a journey to traverse the land of Israel of assess it many characteristics. The Torah teaches that ten of the spies started out the journey with a negative attitude anticipating finding problems that would justify remaining at a high level of spirituality in the desert. Two of the spies, Caleb (Calev) and Joshua (Yehoshua) began with good intentions and immediately understood that they must be strong in their determination not to be influenced by the negativity of their fellows. As we start the 40 Days of Caleb’s Challenge let’s focus on being determined to find and share the positive (in a serious and substantial way) no matter what will greet us in the coming 40 days.
